CERT Emergency Preparedness

Doing the greatest good for the greatest number, together we can save a life, with training and preparedness.

  A Basic Emergency Kit Contains

  •  BASIC HOME KIT
  • Water (one gallon per person per day)
  • Non perishable food
  • Battery - powered radio with extra batteries  ( preferably AA type first responders always have extra)
  • Radio Emergency channel 740AM
  • First aid kit
  • Whistle (to signal help)
  • Dust mask
  • Moist towelettes, garbage bags, and plastic ties (for personal sanitation)
  • Wrench or pliers ( to turn off utilities, if necessary)
  • Can opener
  • Local Maps
  • Prescription medications and glasses
  • Extra hearing aid batteries
  • Infant, pet, and or elderly special needs
  • Important family documents (photocopies or copies on a USB drive)
  • Cash (and change)
  • Sturdy shoes
  • Work gloves
  • Playing cards, and small games

 And a container or sturdy duffle bag to store all items.  These are available at most retail stores, along with ready made kits.
